(1910-1982) Фортас, ЭйбЮрист, государственный деятель. С 1933 по 1941 был консультантом ряда "алфавитных агентств" [ alphabet agencies], в 1941 стал администратором в Министерстве внутренних дел [ Department of the Interior, U.S.], в 1942 - заместитель министра [ Undersecretary]. В 1946-65 - совладелец адвокатской фирмы, юрисконсульт ряда корпораций и адвокат по делам о гражданских свободах. В 1965 стал членом Верховного суда [ Justice of the Supreme Court] и советником президента Л. Джонсона [ Johnson, Lyndon Baines (LBJ)] по юридическим вопросам.
